This page explains how content on Pump House Lab gets made, sourced, and kept up to date.

Sourcing

Product specifications, drawdown figures, model numbers, and sizing tables are taken directly from manufacturer catalogs, spec sheets, and technical documentation. We do not estimate or infer specs that aren’t published, and we do not mix specs across brands when their testing methods differ. When we can’t verify a figure from a manufacturer source, we either state that clearly or leave it out.

Independence

Our recommendations, rankings, and ratings are based on the criteria described in our How We Review page. Whether a product is part of an affiliate program has no effect on whether we recommend it or how we describe its drawbacks. Manufacturers and retailers do not get to review or approve articles before publication, and do not pay for placement or favorable coverage.

Balanced coverage

Every recommendation we publish includes the tradeoffs, not just the strengths. Where a product isn’t a good fit for a particular situation, for example, undersized for a high-GPM pump, or missing a connection size common in older installations, we say so directly rather than only listing positives.

Corrections and updates

Well equipment specs, model lineups, and pricing change over time. Articles show a publish date and, when revised, an updated date. If you spot an error, factual, a broken link, an outdated model, contact us at [email protected] and we will review and correct it.

Use of AI in our workflow

We use AI tools to help draft and organize content. Every article is reviewed and edited by a person before publication, and factual claims (specs, prices, model numbers) are checked against manufacturer sources as described above. AI drafting does not replace that review step.
